WE Soda is the global leader in the production of natural soda ash, recognized for supplying a high-quality, low carbon and water-intensity product to a wide range of industries. WE Soda extracts trona ore and processes it into soda ash, which is essential for manufacturing glass, detergents, lithium-ion batteries, and solar panels. WE Soda’s first operations were in Türkiye where commerical production using solution-extraction mining began in 2009. In March 2025, WE Soda acquired Genesis Alkali, the largest US-based producer of natural soda ash with two facilities in Green River, Wyoming, home of the world’s largest trona ore deposit. Headquartered in London, WE Soda has grown rapidly and now produces approximately 9.5 million tonnes of soda ash annually.
